NVNA Users Forum Took Place at IMS-2025/ARFTG-105 Week in San Francisco

The NVNA Users’ Forum in San Francisco was held at IMS/ARFTG-105 on Thursday 19th, 2025. After a brief introduction of the Forum Program by Patrick Roblin (The Ohio State University), all the attendees introduced themselves.

Miles Lindquist (The Ohio State University) presented an “Update on Low Frequency Real-Time NVNA” on improved measurements obtained after the baseband calibration of the bias tee. A productive discussion on its application to non-periodic signals followed with helpful suggestions like using MIMO convolution proposed.

Next, Daanish Smellie (KU Leuven & IMEC) presented on “Alternatives to NVNAs: Oscilloscope-based Nonlinear Characterization Techniques.” A discussion followed on the relative merit of calibration versus de-embedding: calibration appears to remain considered as a safer method.

This well attended forum with 22 participants adjourned with an invitation to attend the next NVNA Users’s Forum at RWW-2026/ARFTG-106 Symposium in Hollywood, CA, January 18-21, 2026.
